In the Name of God Amen. I James GANDER of Hatfield Street in the parish of Christ Church in the County of Surrey Minister of the Gospel being weak in Body but of sound disposing mind memory and understanding do make publish and declare this present writing as and for my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say first my wish and desire is to be buried in a neat Elm Coffin in the Richmond New Burial Ground in the same grave where my late dear wife was interred and my wish and desire is to be carried therein in a hearse with two horses and followed by one Mourning Coach with John MASKELL, William HOLLOWAY and Charlotte STANDING therein. I direct that all my Just Debts and funeral expenses and the expenses of proving this my Will be fully paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently may be after my decease by my Executors and Executrix hereinafter named. I give and bequeath to John MASKELL of George Street Blackfriars Road in the County of Surrey aforesaid [?Blue]maker the Legacy or Sum of fifty pounds free and clear of and from all taxes Legacy Duty and deductions whatsoever and it is my wish and desire that he the said John MASKELL shall and may retain such Legacy or Sum of fifty pounds as soon as conveniently may be after my decease and also my desire is that the said John MASKELL retain sufficient money to buy himself a good suit of mourning. I direct and empower my said Ex[ecuto]rs and Executrix to Call in and receive to impel payment of all Sum and Sums of money whatsoever which shall be due and owing to me by any person or persons whomsoever at the time of my decease and I also order and direct my said Executors and Executrix to sell and dispose of all my household goods, furniture, plate Linen, China, Hooks, pictures, watch, trinkets (except my Cloaths(sic) which I direct to be given to William HOLLOWAY one of my Executors herinafter named) and Effects whatsoever which at the time of my death may be in and upon my Dwelling house and also all that my Leasehold, Messuage, Tenement or dwelling house with the appurtenances being No 10 in Surrey Road in the said County of Surrey now in the tenure or Occupation of Mr. James NEWELL [or NEWALL] either by public auction at Garroways Coffee House Exchange Alley Corn Hill London or Private Contract for the best price or prices in money as they my said Executors and Executrix can get and obtain for the same and as to the money so to be called in and received and also the money to arise and be produced from such Sale or disposition of my said household furniture and effects and Leasehold Messuage aforesaid, upon trust that they my said Executors and Executrix shall and do thereout in the first Place pay off and discharge the sum of Four hundred and fifty pounds and all such Interest as shall then be due unto Mr. Hezekiah BARRETT late Minister of Deptford and Greenwich and which now remains secured by way of Mortgage upon four of my dwelling houses being No.'s 14, 15, 16 and 17 situate on the East side of Hatfield Street aforesaid and from and after the said Mortgage debt or Sum of four hundred and fifty pounds and interest shall be paid off and discharged as aforesaid I do hereby further order and direct my said Executors and Executrix to sell and dispose of the said last mentioned Messuages Tenements or Dwelling house with the appurtenances either by publick auction at Garroways Coffee House aforesaid or private Contract for the best price or prices in money that can or maybe obtained for the same and as to the residue of the monies to be collected and got in as aforesaid and to arise and be produced from such first mentioned sale or disposition after paying thereout the said Mortgage Debt or sum of four hundred and fifty pounds and interest as aforesaid and also as to the monies to arise and be produced from such last mentioned Sale or disposition of my said four last mentioned Messuages or Tenements and promises after payment deduction of all such Costs Changes and expenses as shall or may be incurred in or about such Sale or Sales as aforesaid and all my just debts which shall be due and owing from me at the time of my decease funeral expenses and the expenses of proving this my will and the said Legacy or Sum of fifty pounds by me hereinbefore given to the said John MASKELL as also the Sum of Eight Shillings per week to be paid to Charlotte STANDING from the time she leaves my service until her first half years dividend becomes payable as hereinafter expressed and also that she be allowed suitable mourning upon trust that they my said Executors and Executrix shall and do lay out and invest all such monies in their names in the five pounds per cent Bank Annuities And I do hereby declare my mind and Will to be that they my said Executors and Executrix shall and do stand possessed of all such Surplus monies or the Stocks or Funds in or upon which the same shall be invested and the Interest dividends and annual produce thereof and also of and in One hundred pounds five pounds per cent Bank Annuities now standing in my name in the Books of the Bank of England kept for such stocks or Funds and the interest dividends and annual produce thereof upon the trusts and for the Intents and purposes following (that is to say) as to one moiety or equal half part of the Interest dividends and annual produce of the said several trusts monies Stocks or Funds upon Trust to pay the same moiety to or otherwise permit or suffer William HOLLOWAY residing next door to the sign of the Bull East Sheen in the said County of Surrey Coachman to Mrs CRANMER and his assigns to receive and take the same for and during the term of his Natural life to and for his and their own use and benefit and as to the other or remaining undivided moiety or equal half part of the aforesaid interest dividends and annual produce upon trust to pay the same moiety to or otherwise permit and suffer Charlotte STANDING now servant to me and her assigns to receive and take the same for and during the term of her natural life to and for her and their own use and benefit and I do hereby further declare my mind and Will to be that if the said Charlotte STANDING shall at any time happen to marry then and in such case [ ........ ] said moiety of and in the aforesaid Interest [ ....... ] and annual produce shall be upon Trust for such persons or persons for such intents and purposes as she the said Charlotte STANDING by any Note or Writing Notes or Writings under her own hand shall notwithstanding her Coverture and as if she was sole and unmarried direct or appoint and in default of such direction or appointment then upon trust to pay the said last mentioned moiety of the said interest dividends and annual produce into the proper hands of the said Charlotte STANDING for her sole separate and peculiar use and benefit during her natural life exclusive of and independent of the debts engagements power intermeddling or [?Control] of any husband or husbands with whom she may happen to intermarry and I declare that her separate receipt alone or of such person or persons to whom she shall so as aforesaid direct or appoint: the same shall be a Sufficient discharge from time to time for the same and from and after the decease of the said William HOLLOWAY and Charlotte STANDING or either of them then their share of the interests dividends and annual produce thereof respectively then due (if any) be immediately divided between my Brothers Peter GANDER and Thomas GANDER hereinafter named and then as to the aforesaid several trust monies Stocks Funds and Securities and also as to all the rest residue and remainder of my Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind or quality soever the same may be not hereinbefore by and disposed of from and immediately after my death, I give and bequeath the same and every part and parts thereof respectively unto my Brothers Peter GANDER of Blackfriars Road in the said County of Surrey Butcher and Thomas GANDER now residing with my father-in-law at Chertsey in the said County Gentleman share and share alike as Tenants in Common and not as joint Tenants and to their several and to respective Executors Administrators and assigns to and for their own respective use and benefit absolutely and I do hereby nominate Constitute and appoint the said John MASKELL, William HOLLOWAY and Charlotte STANDING Executors and Executrix of this my last Will and lastly hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made I publish and swear this duly to be and Contain my last Will and Testament.

In Witness whereof I the said James GANDER the testator above named have to this my last Will and Testament, Contained In four sheets of paper set my hand and seal that is to say my hand to the three first Sheets thereof and my hand and seal to this fourth and last sheet thereof this thirtieth day of March in the year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and nine.

THIS WILL was proved at London the third day of May In the year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and nine before the Worshipful Charles COOTE Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Honorable(sic) Sir John NICHOLL Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully Constituted by the oaths of John MASKELL and William HOLLOWAY two of the Executors named in the said Will to whom administration was granted by all and Singular the Goods Chattles(sic) and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer power resolved of making the like grant to Charlotte STANDING spinster-the other Ex[ecuto]r(sic) named in the said Will when she shall apply for the same.
